Professional Services Group (PSG), an Irish financial management consultancy, has relocated its UK base to Liverpool. The business has taken space in Horton House at Exchange Flags in a move that has created six jobs.

PSG already employs nine people in Dublin and three in its London office, which it opened nine months ago. The company provides a range of consultancy services including cash management, financial control, operational management and business strategy.

Founder and director Aiden Lacey told Insider that the business selected Liverpool ahead of other locations in the North West. "We wanted to open a branch in the North West as we felt the region has a culture fit and synergy with our business. We looked at opening in Manchester, but we felt the business community there was more mature.

"It ultimately came down to the general feel of the city. Liverpool has undergone a massive amount of regeneration in recent years and we wanted to be part of that. The Liverpool One development, for example, is really helping to reshape commerce and the city. There's always a feeling that something's going to happen in Liverpool and it's our vision to make it happen."

Lacey said PSG plans to hold a series of management seminars later this year to introduce the company's approach to local businesses.

Tony O'Neill, head of business support at Liverpool Vision, added: "PSG's move to Liverpool is further confirmation of the city's strength in professional services and wealth management. We welcome the company's commitment to Liverpool, recruiting in Liverpool and its plans for growth."
